Windows Media Center Edition

Don Box built a PC for Media Center Edition... How do us mere mortals (a.k.a non-Microsoft employees) get a legitimate copy of Media Center to run on our home-brew PCs? From everything I've read, it is only available with a PC sold specifically as a Media Center PC.

Nope - you just have to pick up the right hardware.
 
 Other than that, there's no difference. I've been running it for awhile myself at home.
 
 One word of warning: Don't buy the Avermedia. Their drivers suck and are unsupported. Not to mention that the card itself is a piece of crap - I couldn't use it w/o noise with S-video. The best answer I got to reduce the noise was to ground it, but it still didn't eliminate the problem. Apparently, it's a common problem with them.

Are there any limitations to it? I thought I had read somewhere that it would expire after a certain amount of time?
